Sam Holden
Sam Holden is the Assistant Professional at Golf Garage VT & NH and serves as the Tournament Director for the Vermont Chapter of the PGA of America, where he manages tournament operations, player services, and competitive events for PGA professionals across the state. Since relocating to Vermont with his fiancée in 2023, Sam has become deeply involved in the region’s golf community, drawn to its passionate players and strong competitive tradition.
A decorated amateur, Sam brings a proven competitive résumé to his coaching. He is a 3-time Junior Club Champion, 2-time North Carolina High School Team State Champion, and 3-time Vermont Golf Association (VGA) State Day Champion, with competitive success spanning both the Carolinas and New England. His low competitive round of 68 reflects the level of precision and scoring focus he now brings to instruction. Sam is currently a Level 2 PGA Associate and holds TrackMan Level 1 and PGA HOPE certifications, combining modern data with practical, on-course scoring strategies. He is a strong proponent that golf, at the end of the day, is just about getting the ball in the hole as quickly as possible.
At Golf Garage, Sam works primarily with beginner to intermediate golfers, specializing in building skill and confidence in fundamentals and simple fixes. His coaching emphasizes repeatable fundamentals that translate directly to lower scores. He believes golf should be approachable, structured, and enjoyable, without unnecessary technical overload.
In addition to coaching, Sam leads Golf Garage’s programming and player development initiatives, oversees social media and brand presence, and manages retail operations both in-store and online across the Vermont and New Hampshire locations. His role extends beyond instruction. He helps shape the overall player experience, ensuring golfers of all levels feel supported, challenged, and connected to the game.
